Captain of fnatic, Patrik "cArn" Sättermon answeres questions prior to the Grand Final against SK Gaming.

Yet in another Grand Final, we caught the man who has been controlling his team very well this year. Patrik "cArn" Sättermon talks to HLTV.org about their performance in Chengdu, the final agianst SK and reports a possible retirement at the end of this year.

You have made it to the final here in Chengdu, could you put some words on your performance to the final?

I think it is no secret, that we did not come out good of the group-stage, playing a rather unknown Chinese team (SC.United), I think we were not confident at all and afterwards we got smashed by the Chinese powerhouse TyLoo. I think I never have lost 14 rounds as CT on inferno, so that was really disappointing. So we were lucky to make it to the playoffs. Day two we started by playing TitaNs, and there we did not start good either. The failure to win the first map, made us realized that if we don’t play better, we won’t make it further. From then on, we have not lost a single map, beating WeMade FOX 2-0 in the semi.

Your teammate dsn yesterday wrote that you had a pretty way into the tournament, just as you had in previous tournaments. Now you are in the final, facing SK, whos having a new team with two new players. Looking at your results in the tournament are you confident that you can snatch the trophy in front of SK?

Yea, I think for the four years I’ve been in fnatic, we have always had problems in the group-stages, and looking back on this year, we have played SK in two finals, KODE5 and ESWC Cheonan, winning 2-0 both times. So I think we have an advantage in experience, but they are probably hungry to win their first title. Bringing in kHRYSTAL and face who are good players, which probably changed a lot in the team, I think the old team lacked a bit of chemistry in the team, needing a new way of thinking, in terms of tactics.

Looking a bit at the final, what do you see fnatic having of advantages and what outcome of this Grand Final be?

As I said before, I think experience is something that is in our favor, we have been playing many playoffs this year, winning many titles too. But then again, we have more matches behind us, so they have the advantage to study us, while they are all new. We are hungry too, but they a new team so they probably more hungry as they need to prove themselves, while we have a reputation to keep up, as we are named the best team in the world. But if our experience is with us and we stay focused it is going to be hard for them to win.

As you said, four titles this year, will you win the fifth?

I do hope so. I mean my goal is always to win titles, this is probably the last year I’m playing, having such a great record is something I will be really proud of, looking back on this year.
