MOUZ and FrenchFrogs opened DreamHack Tours 2019 with 16-4 and 19-15 victories over Instinct and G2, respectively.

Group A's opening match saw MOUZ take on Instinct on Inferno. The underdogs kicked it off to a solid CT start, securing the initial three rounds off the back of a successful pistol. Finn "⁠karrigan⁠" Andersen's troops retaliated with three of their own, consolidated by an anti-eco triple kill from Özgür "⁠woxic⁠" Eker. The Terrorists kept the tempo up post-equaliser, developing a very healthy economy, as well as a commanding lead going into the latter stage of the half. Unable to pose a threat on the defence, Instinct fell in all the remaining rounds, concluding with a 3-12 deficit.

woxic thrashed Instinct on Inferno, closing the map with a 2.12 rating

Instinct secured the next pistol round, this time on the offense, only to be upset in the follower by a Deagle triple kill from David "⁠frozen⁠" Čerňanský. The Frenchmen were unable to recuperate from this falter, conceding the following three rounds to conclude Inferno 16-4 in favour of MOUZ.

Group B's opening match saw a confrontation between G2 and FrenchFrogs on Nuke. Richard "⁠shox⁠" Papillon and company got off to a fruitful start on the defence, having secured the initial four rounds, the latter-most of which saw an AUG quad kill from the team's captain. The Terrorists showed signs of life in rounds five and seven, successfully dismantling the CT economy as a result. Off the back of the wobble in G2's finances, the former 3DMAX team went on to secure the majority of rounds of the initial half, switching to the defence with an 8-7 lead.

Davidp topped the FrenchFrogs scoreboard with a 1.27 rating

FrenchFrogs leapt into their defensive half with a pistol round success, followed by an additional round, but the initial momentum lacked longevity as G2 were able to turn the tables with rifles in hand. Two strings of three rounds fell in the way of Kenny "⁠kennyS⁠" Schrub and company, and after a brief stoppage from FrenchFrogs, the Terrorists found themselves on map point. The 30th round saw a bloody engagement on the A site, subsequently spilling onto B with a 1v2 situation, with shox unable to pull off the clutch.

Confidence beamed from the FrenchFrogs, who proceeded with comeback efforts by securing a flawless 3-0 defensive overtime half. The squad kept the extra rounds to a minimum, as a single victory on the latter half of overtime concluded affairs, with the underdogs skipping away with a 19-15 score.
